“The Lifestyle” — a name every bit as vague and useless as the 8 billion acronyms it spawned — can be confusing, isolating, and a little exclusionary. People find their lanes and stay in them.
But what about those of us still trying to make sense of new relationship models and having no idea which way is up?
Dinner Party™ proposes a radical idea: that we…ya know…sit down and talk. That we share a few bottles of wine, enjoy a beautiful meal…that we literally break bread with a table of strangers in a secret little patio in the heart of Lisbon. Sure…we’ll probably end up talking about sex and fantasies, but in the process, we’ll laugh together (a little at ourselves, too), and leave as friends in a fledgling community we’re helping create.
The takeaway (other than an extra sobremesa and maybe the phone number of that person two chairs over)? No one knows what they’re doing. And it’s ok not to know. Talking about it makes us all feel a little less lonely and a little more comfortable.
